2008-05-08

Don’t miss the opportunity for new and seasoned artists to enter the Shine FM Cross Canada Talent Search in Calgary, October 22-24th. Entries must be postmarked by October 10.

The competitions are again offering a fantastic line-up of prizes, including the passes and travel expenses to Estes Park, Colorado GMA in the Rockies an equipment package from Axe Music, Breakforth 2009 performance opportunities in Edmonton January 30th-February 1 as well as a development package including a demo recording and airplay from Avante Records, Slyngshot Productions and Shine FM!

If you are a new artist, there is no better place than GMA Canada Week to get experience and advice in furthering your calling. If you have been in the business for years, and still trying to figure out how to make more contacts, support from industry pros like labels, distribution, management, etc, and just simply need help in making your calling more feasible financially and practically, than this is for you!

Why register for the 2008 CCMConference?

If you take your music career seriously, and are looking for a place to grow your career as a Christian Musician, there is no better place you can be than the CCMConference, as part of the GMACanada Music Week.

Be Heard:
As a songwriter or performer, you need places to be heard to both raise your level of craft, as well as open doors of opportunity. Through the conference, competitions, awards show and throughout the event, you have the opportunity to be heard by other musicians as well as industry professionals.

Learning Opportunities:
The sessions offered including specific teaching on songwriting, performance, record labels, management, touring, and more are designed with the Canadian Christian artists in mind. You will leave having grown in your understanding of the industry, and a sharper sense of your place in the music community.

Networking Opportunities:
The people who are coming to the conference as session leaders as well as the other artists hold many keys that can help unlock great opportunities to further your reach into the world with your music. Both in terms of simply sharing road stories with other like-minded people, all the way to full record label contracts, this event is meant to help each attendee move forward one step at a time in their calling.

Personal Encouragement
One of the greatest reasons you need to be at the event is the spiritual and practical encouragement that takes place between the various people who are attending. From the brand new artists exploring the industry, to the president of the GMA US, the shoulder-rubbing that takes place throughout the event is something you want to take part in. You will leave enriched as a person as well as a musician!

Conference and competition registration is available online at ccmconference.com. Simply download the registration form by clicking here, which includes information and forms for the conference as well as the competitions.

We need your help!

One of the keys to a growing music community is just that: Community! Canada is a big country, and new artists are answering the call to creating music every year, and we simply do not have the ability to reach everyone of them, but each of you know other artists who could benefit from this event, so help us, help them, and help grow the community of Christian Music makers in Canada by letting them know about the event, and encouraging them to come out.

Our goals as a GMA board, as well as the organizers of the conference and competitions are to enable and encourage great Christian art in Canada, and you can be a part of seeing that growth happen. We believe that working together is the best way that this can be accomplished. We want to help you build your careers, and we need your to help make that happen.

Thank-you for being a part of this growing community!
