Hosted by KAOS 90.5 FM in cooperation with the school boards, community service organizations, and local police, the Driver Skill Rodeo was a free event aimed at young drivers to give them a full day of interactive learning about all aspects of driving safety. The focus of this year’s Rodeo was “distraction”. Students gained points by participating in some of the featured activities such as a drivers obstacle course, drunk driving simulation activities, Jaws of Life demonstration, finding the “blind zone” while sitting in a transport truck, a rollover demonstration that ejects life size dummies and much more. There was on outstanding presentation titled “Accident Awareness” by Bob Anson that gripped the teenager’s attention. Other activities and displays included Sledge-a-car, EMS lifesaving, Canadian Blood Services blood typing, Canadian Forces safety demonstration, car dealership and insurance displays and much more.

As a registered charity Kings Kid’s Promotions Inc. runs local radio station KAOS as a non-profit rock radio station serving youth in the community.
The Driver Skill Rodeo committee members would like to thank everyone for their assistance in making the event educational, interactive and fun for young adults.
